Mulberry Cottage is named after the very old English mulberry tree planted at the front of the cottage by the pioneers of the property.

This tree is still giving up its bountiful crop of big, black, delicious, sweet juicy berries during the months of January and February to all who linger awhile under its shady green canopy.

Inside the cottage is a combined kitchen/living/dining room. The kitchen has a gas cooktop, a microwave and there is a gas barbecue on the back veranda.

There is also a family size fridge and a full complement of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Please note that there is no oven in the kitchen.

The lounge room has free to air satellite TV with ABC, GWN, WIN, SBS and several music channels and there is also a VCR.

The lounge has a big glass sliding door leading to the front veranda where there is a timber outdoor setting that is perfect for alfresco dining, bird watching or just sitting and relaxing in this peaceful environment whilst looking down over the Blackwood River.

The main bedroom has a “high off the ground” queen bed, the second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom, two singles.

Each bedroom has floor to ceiling windows allowing plenty of air and light inside. All linen is provided and each bed has a spare doona just in case there is an odd chilly night.

In August 2006, in the early hours of the morning, strong winds blew over some trees in the yard of Mulberry Cottage. Unfortunately the trees fell upon, and demolished, the separate timber room housing the double spa.

In early October the new “high off the ground” spa room was commissioned and this is accessed across a short walkway from the front veranda. This is a light filled, dedicated spa room with two windows that give fabulous views down over the Blackwood River.
