Blackwood River Cottages

Blackwood River Cottages are situated twelve kilometers from Nannup and are nestled on the banks of the Blackwood River and surrounded by forest. With only three cottages on the forty acre property guests can experience the peace and serenity of their secluded cottage setting.

Bird lovers are rewarded with sightings of a wide variety of bird life throughout the year. Guests are encouraged to observe these wonderful species as they enjoy the freedom, space, and natural food sources that the property provides.

In the cooler months of the year guests can walk in the nearby forest, admire the delicacy of the Australian wildflowers in full bloom or observe some of the many colourful birds in their natural habitat.

A man made lake in the middle of the property provides a habitat and a breeding ground for a wide variety of ducks and water fowl as well as the long necked tortoise.

Following the winter rains the crisp evening air is filled with a deafening cacophony of sound as the resident frogs start their nightly chorus.

Each evening, dozens of kangaroos come on to the property and gather around the lake and cottages to feed.

Guests in the cottages occasionally receive nightly visits from the local possums walking on the balcony rails and along the verandahs.
